This is one of my photos featured in The British Spanish Society publication (London) about "The Spanish Notebooks", the project I´m developing with with my husband, Canadian-British artist and filmmaker Zev Robinson. http://issuu.com/amybell2/docs/web_issue_236
I began taking photographs of the people and events we came across when Zev was filming his documentaries about Spain. This evolved into our "The Spanish Notebooks" project in which I document people, objects, festivals, and food in villages, portraying an unseen side of the country stereotypically known mainly for sunny beaches, paella and flamenco.
One of our last documentaries is "Arribes: Everything Else is Noise" about the traditional way of life and its relationship to agriculture, food and sustainability in Arribes del Duero, NW of Spain in the border with Portugal. DVD is available.
